BYD Co., Ltd. reaped auto sales revenue of CNY 8.877 billion in the first half of 2009, with a 133% surge year on year, and it is expected to grow into the No.1 Chinese carmaker ahead of schedule.

Last year, the company announced that it expected to hit the target in 2015.

It aggregately sold 246,881 vehicles from January to June, ranking the sixth place in the Chinese automobile market. In particular, its sales volume for the entire 2009 is targeted for 400,000 units, citing a report released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

Up to 24,685 F3 sedans were sold by BYD in August alone, surpassing other counterparts, and total sales for June and July separately reached 15,675 and 22,183 units. In the face of such a cheerful performance, the company believes that it can sell 180,000 F3 sedans in the full year 2009.

Last month, it also sold 10,023 F0 sedans.
