Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., which was co-founded by Dongfeng Motor Corp and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in 2003, is scheduled to spend 6.5 billion yuan setting up three new plants in China from 2009 to 2010.

After its three factories located in Guangzhou, Shiyan, and Zhengzhou start operation in succession, the JV will likely hit the 2012 sales target of 1 million vehicles ahead of schedule.

In order to ensure a sustainable growth in China, the world's fastest-growing automobile market, Nissan Motor promises to give a strong fund support to its JV. In particular, the Japanese automaker's latest technologies will be introduced into Dongfeng Motor as soon as possible.

Dongfeng Motor aggregately sold 562,000 vehicles in the first eight months of 2009, with a 16% growth year on year, and total sales volume of its passenger cars hiked 47% to nearly 350,000. In August alone, up to 77,000 cars were sold by the Wuhan-headquartered JV, largely rising 68% from a year ago.
