The BYD G3 sedan, which was unveiled at an auto show in east China's Shandong province last month, is certainly different from BYD's all other models so far and will have an independent A3 sales network, with the A1 network for the F3, F6 models and A2 network for the F3R, F0 models.

The G3 is going to be built on the same platform as BYD's popular F0, F3 models. It is powered by a 1.5L Mitsubishi engine, and BYD's own 1.8L engine which produces 90kW and have a max torque of 160Nm. The 1.5l engine will come with a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox.

Furthermore, the BYD G3 is expected to carry the CAN-BUS system as standard, keyless entry, engine start button as well as the usual safety features such as crash protection bars, ABS, EBD, among others.

The BYD G3 was rumored to be a 'mini Lexus' model, thanks to its rear end appearing on CCT earlier this year, but the front end is certainly Toyota Vios in style.
