Changan Ford sells 42,260 Fiesta cars in Mar-Nov
Shanghai, December 16 (Gasgoo.com) Ford Motor's Chinese venture Changan Ford Mazda sold 5,440 Ford Fiesta cars last month, and the all-new model's total sales since its March launch came to 42,260 units, media reported today.
Earlier this month, the company reported sales of 22,738 Ford brand vehicles in November, up 152% from a year earlier. Through the first eleven months, Changan Ford has achieved total sales of 210,982 units of Ford brand vehicles, up 47%.
Continued strong sales from the all-new Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus helped drive the impressive Nov. sales. Fiesta achieved its best-ever China monthly sales in Nov. with 5,440 units, bringing total sales of the popular nameplate to 42,260 units since its China launch in March.
Ford Focus sold 12,797 units last month, retaining its position as one of the top sellers in China's mid-size car market. Its popularity as a sporty model will receive another boost from the launch of the Focus Sport Limited Edition at the recent Guangzhou auto show.
The new Fiesta's interior design, improved suspension and steering are tailor-made for the unique demands of Chinese consumers. The new Fiesta, with its global engineering features, can meet China's growing demand for fuel-efficient small cars.
It is estimated that the new Fiesta may achieve an average sales of 10,000 units monthly in 2010.
