Mazda China sales up 9% to 14,555 vehicles in April

Japanese auto maker Mazda Motor Corp sold 14,555 vehicles in China in April, 9% more than in April of last year, according to a report the company released recently.

FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co Ltd, a joint venture with FAW Group and FAW Car Co Ltd, saw its sales increase 2% year on year to 8,191 units in April. Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co Ltd, a joint venture with Ford Motor Co and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd, saw its sales grow 20% year on year to 6,364 vehicles boosted by the booming sales of the Mazda 3.

Mazda Motor plans to increase the number of 4S stores for FAW Mazda and Changan Ford Mazda to more than 300 by the end of this year. The number had increased to 268 as of the end of April.

Mazda Motor released the Mazda 6 Ruiyi at the end of April and plans to release the new generation Mazda 3 and the new Mazda 8 in the second half of this year.
