FAW-VW starts selling Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro supercar

Shanghai, June 30 (Gasgoo.com) FAW-Volkswagen started selling the Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro supercar in China on June 25, Xinhua News reported. The imported Audi R8 sport car is priced at 2,328,000 yuan ($342,000) for Chinese buyers.

The Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro supercar, equipped with a 5.2-liter FSI V10 petrol engine and an R tronic automatic transmission, produces top power of 386 kW/8000rpm and peak torque of 530Nm/6500rpm. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and to 200 km/h in another 8.1 seconds, with a top speed of 316 km/h.

While featuring strong performance, it consumes just 14.7 liters of gasoline every 100 km. Audi technologies such as quattro permanent all-wheel drive, the lightweight aluminum body and the innovative all-LED lights propel the new top Audi model right to the top of its competitive field.

Audi, Volkswagen AG's luxury brand, sold 88,451 cars in the Chinese market in the first five months of the year, up 65.3% year on year, another record result for the leading premium brand in China.

After selling nearly 160,000 cars last year in its largest overseas market, Audi expects to lead China's luxury car market again with sales of 200,000 units in 2010.

FAW-VW produces a range of Audi cars, including the A4L, A6L sedan and Q5 SUV, whilst other models such as the Q7, A8 and R8 models are imported into China.
