Audi China H1 sales up 64% to record 109,887 units

Shanghai, July 6 (Gasgoo.com) Last month saw a robust sales growth of FAW-VW's Audi products. The company sold 21,203 new Audi models last month, up 62% year on year, setting an all-time single month sales record in its history in China. In the first half of this year, China sales of the Audi brand totaled 108,600 units, up 64% year on year, surpassing its total sales for the first nine months of last year.

Specifically, the Audi A4L reported sales of 4,400 units in June and of 26,622 units in the first six months, up 100% from a year earlier. The Audi A6L sales in June rose 28.3% from a year earlier to 59,465 units.

Moreover, the locally produced Audi Q5 increased its monthly sales to 2,444 units in June, totaling its sales during the first six months to 7,906 units.

The imported Audi models have also done a great job in the Chinese market. Reportedly, the Audi A5/Audi S5 Series boosted sales to 852 units in June, leaving its cumulative sales in the first six months of last year far behind.

In addition, the Audi Q7 sales jumped 77% year on year to 5,288 units, and the Audi A8 had a year-on-year sales growth of 26% in the first half of this year.

"2010 will be a record year for Audi in China. We will deliver 200,000 vehicles to customers," the company's sales Chief Peter Schwarzenbauer said in a statement.
