Shanghai GM Beisheng's general manager joins Foton Motor

Shanghai August 12 (Gasgoo.com) Hou Haijing, former general manager of Shanghai GM (Shenyang) Beisheng Automotive Ltd., a subsidiary of Shanghai GM, has recently joined Foton Motor as vice president, media reported today.

Regarding the latest news that Hou Haijing will take charge of Foton's passenger-car project, a relevant source from the company said there is no such thing at all.

The former general manager of Foton's Oman Truck unit is now in charge of Foton's bus unit, another source from the company said.

Foton Motor, a subsidiary of Beijing Automotive Industry Holding (BAIC), does have a passenger-car project, including sedans, but it is actually a long-term planning, and it is difficult to get it started in a short term. Hou Haijing was responsible for Shanghai GM's sedan project, however it has nothing to with Foton's passenger-car project, sources revealed.

Foton Motor has made a series of personnel changes in recent months, Dong Haiyang, vice general manager of Foton Motor and general manager of its overseas division, has also left. He will be invited by BAIC as vice general manager of the to-be-formed company, early sources said.
