Mazda posts 19.5% increase in US auto sales in October

Mazda North American Operation said Wednesday its U.S. auto sales increased 19.5 percent in October from a year ago.

BY THE NUMBERS: Mazda sold 18,013 vehicles last month, up from 15,068 in October 2009.

TOP SELLER: The automaker sold 7,745 Mazda3s in October, compared with 6,729 last year.

HOT MODEL: Mazda's crossover SUVs posted the most impressive gains. Sales of the CX-7 reported rose 46.8 percent to 2,483, while sales of the CX-9 increased 56.7 percent to 2,497 vehicles.
