Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 18) - FAW Group and Changan Automobile have signed an agreement with China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation to further research electric vehicles, the Beijing Times reported today. China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock, also known as CSR, is the world's largest producer of electric locomotives. The three companies will look to develop two platforms and three new EV models.

As one of the National State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission's original sixteen pioneer units, CSR is looking to expand its knowledge of the EV industry via cooperation with other enterprises. CSR and FAW have officially held a joint discussion forum on electric mass transit vehicles and driving technology.

The move represents a new step for both CSR's EV research and development plans and inter-industry cooperation.
