Bentley Sales in China Decline Rarely: Will Set no More Sales Cities in China

As top automobile brand of Volkswagen, Bentley has been widely chased by zillionaire of China, which bring soaring sales. However, the brand has dropped from cloud in 2013. Its sales have dropped 2.8% over last year, which extremelydifferent from hot sales in U.S and European market.

For the bad market performance of the first half year of 2013, Mr. Till Scheer, executive general manager of Bentley Great China, says “in the first half year of 2013, luxury automobile segment of China sales has slowdown. Market flexure is normal for economy development. No market wills growth forever. In the first half year of 2013, Bentley work forward dealer’s network development. We have covered all key cites from West to East, and from South to North. It works for all Bentley owners and potential buyers to enjoy Bentley globally standard service.”

However, an original dealer of Bentley believes that it is not that easy. Rolls-Royce which beat by Bentley before, sales of 2013 has increased 11%.

A senior dealer of Bentley complains that Bentley announces its strict regulation that each month shall achieve Bentley sales and order quota.

The dealer believes that more strict regulation will limit sales. “It is simple. If I still have certain inventory, and then I cannot pick up the model I want. Therefore, the next month I am unable to order.”

Chinese luxury automobile segment is about to take 4% of entire market percentage. In developed market, such as European and U.S, the figure is about 14%. It means that luxury automobile still has its space in the future.

It seems that Volkswagen has realized the problem. Kevin Rose, Bentley sales and marketing director says “in 2014, Bentley is not going to develop its dealer network. We will not include any other Chinese city inside at this moment.”
