The localized Borgward might be manufactured in Sanshui city, Guangdong province

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Mar 23)– On the auto show held in Geneva in early March this year, the traditional German luxury brand Borgward which has disappeared for 66 years didn't participate in the show and had its own Chinese name and Beiqi Foton would become its important strategy partner in China. Last week, reporter was informed the Borgward project would be operated in the factory of Foton located in Sanshui city.

As early as May 2014, Beiqi Foton hired Mr. Chen, who was former the leader of Cadillac branch, to be executive vice president of Beiqi Foton passenger car project, taking care of the product plan and marketing business. Before this appointment, former interior trim designer of Shanghai GM Pan-Asia Technical Automotive Center joined Beiqi Foton too. Besides, the negotiation between Borgward and Beiqi Foton began in as early as 2005. In accordance with public information from State Trademark Bureau, Beiqi Foton has already registered the Chinese name of Borgward for the preparation of operating this brand. The 1st localized product might be a SUV as the plan of Borgward, which will show up in Frankfurt Auto Show. Our reporter has been informed the related product will be manufactured in the factory of Foton in Sanshui city, Guangdong province.
