Four GM brands will hit the Shanghai Auto Show, two model debuts
Recently, General Motors (China) announced that the Group will participate in China's 2007 Shanghai International Auto Show with its joint ventures. Wagner, chairman and CEO of General Motors Corporation will attend this year's show, and will unveil two concept cars.
It will be the debut for concept models in China. General Motors said Chevrolet's Volt, the concept car to be showed is based on the General Motors unique E-Flex R & D system models. Meanwhile, General Motors will launch a local designed concept car at the show. This global launch of the General Motors concept cars will fully demonstrate the leading Pan Asia Technical Center automobile engineering design capability.
GM opened its first factory in China in 1998 and now operates seven joint ventures and two wholly owned foreign enterprises in the country. Along with five vehicle factories and one engine plant, the company has also launched an auto financing venture and a chain of dealerships.
Furthermore, Shanghai General Motors said its Cadillac, Buick, Saab four and Chevrolet brands will be featured on the show, with total 29 models; SGMW will also be on display of Shanghai Auto Show with 4 models.
