Sources from Subaru China dealers say that Subaru is on the way to be made in China, but the launching time or the name of the sub brands will not be unveiled at present.

Japan's Fuji Heavy Industries Co plans to sell more than 7,000 Subaru-brand cars in China this year and more than 10,000 cars of the brand is scheduled to be sold next year.

Subaru considered producing its Subaru-brand cars in China two years ago when the company decided to produce the model by 2007 if imports reach 5,000 units a year. Later rumors said Fuji Heavy was negotiating with Shanghai Auto about local production of the brand.

Subaru–brand entered in China in 2004. The sales goal for 2006 of 3,000 units of the model has been fulfilled earlier in 2005, and the company sold 6,000 last year. Fuji Heavy is possibly to realize a sales mark of 10,000 Subaru by 2008.
