Shandong's rural vehicle sales double in March

Shandong Province sold 96,800 vehicles for a total of RMB 1.6 billion in rural areas last month. Its sales volume was 2.1 times that of last March, and sales revenue tripled, sources reported.

In March, the province provided RMB 105 million worth of subsidies to 66,600 vehicle purchasers.

Since the implementation of China's rural auto subsidy policy, Shandong has sold 778,700 vehicles in rural areas for a total of RMB 13.92 billion. Total subsidies stood at RMB 1.24 billion.

Reportedly, Linyi, Shangdong on Apr. 7 kicked off construction on the province's first charging station for electric vehicles.

The province aims to build nine charging stations and 500 charging facilities this year. Four of the nine charging stations will be located in Linyi and five will be located in Ji'nan, the capital of Shandong.
