Russia becomes No.1 importer of Chinese cars

Russia has imported 38,600 units of vehicles (worth $450 million) from China in the first six months of this year, becoming largest importer of Chinese automobiles, according to China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products.

The table below shows the top three markets importing Chinese automobiles in the first half of 2007.

China also exports automobiles to Algeria, Syria, Vietnam, South Africa and Ukraine.

In terms of world markets, Asia is the largest importer of Chinese automobiles, which shares 39% of Chinese total automobile exports; Europe shares 30.7%; Latin America, North America and Oceania (Australia and Pacifica Islands) shares the remaining share.
