Car price discounts continue in August

Shanghai. August 15 (Gasgoo.com) - Passenger vehicle prices in Beijing dropped 0.14% on average since the beginning of August. About 26 percent of auto models sold in Beijing area are offering discounts.

High-end vehicle models with prices higher 300,000 yuan ($39,576), including Chrysler 300C, Audi A4 and Benz E-series, offer price-cut averaging at 0.2 percent with Chrysler 300C leading the price-cuts.

Models priced between 200,000 yuan ($26,384) and 300,000 yuan ($39,576), such as Teana, Mazda6, Buick GL8, are offering moderate price-cuts. However, prices of Camry, Accord and Reiz remain largely unchanged.

Vehicles with prices ranging from 100,000 yuan ($13,192) to 200,000 yuan ($26,384) offer greater discounts than other car models, especially models like Mazda3, Elantra, Bora hatchback, Suzuki SX4 and Premacy. Other models, like Sagitar, City, Elantra and Excelle, also offer different discounts.

Small cars with prices ranging from 50,000 yuan ($6,596) to 100,000 yuan ($13,192), remain unchanged month on month with the exception of the second generation Familia, which offers a 5,000 yuan ($6,596) discount currently. In addition, prices of BYD F3 and Brilliance Junjie continue to drop.

Mini-cars haven’t seen significant price changes except for Chery’s QQ series, which are offering big discounts to boost their sales.
