Guangdong, used car sales overtake new cars for the first time
Shanghai. August 30 (Gasgoo.com) – The transaction volume of used cars in Guangdong province has reached 206,400 units in the first half year, up 47.96 percent from a year earlier, according to official statistics.
By contrast, the sales of new cars have reached 166,300 units in the first half year. This is the first time that the sales volume of used car has overtaken that of new cars in Guangdong province.
The average price of used car is 31,100 yuan ($4,116) this year, an increase of 4000 yuan ($529) from a year earlier.
In these used car transactions, about 55 percent of used cars are 3-10 years old; 38.71 percent are less than 3 years old and only 6.25 percent are over ten years old.
