Shanghai. September 3 (Gasgoo.com) – Under increasing pressure from Mercedes-Benz for legal actions, Shuanghuan Automobile Co. Ltd declared last week the company has no plan to attend the Frankfurt auto show.

Xiao Rongfu, sales manager of Shuanghuan Automobile denied that that company had plan to attend Frankfurt auto show.

“In fact, our company did not have such an official plan,” Xiao said. “The stories about my plan to attend Frankfurt auto show may come from German sources.”

Earlier last weak, Mercedes-Benz threatened that the company will take legal actions against Shuanghuan Automobile if the latter shows its cars in Frankfurt in September.

“We take intellectual property very seriously and we reserve the right to pursue legal action. (The Noble) is a blatant attempt to copy a product of ours that has achieved cult status worldwide,” Mercedes-Benz said in an official statement last week.

Mercedes spokesman said the company has already contacted Shuanghuan in China but declined to say what the two auto makers spoke about.

Shuanghuan has remained silent for a couple of days since Mecedes-Benz’s threatened legal actions. However, the company broke silence last Friday, saying it hopes to solve the dispute through friendly talks, not by lawsuits.
