China's private cars grow 20 percent annually

Shanghai. September 19 (Gasgoo.com) - China's private cars has been growing 20 percent over past a few years, which is faster than the growth of Chinese economy, the Ministry of Construction said.

By the end of June this year, China has a total number of 53.56 mln automobiles in use, and 32,39 mln are private vehicles.

In 2006, China become world second largest automobile market with a total sales volume of 7.1 mln units. However, automobile ownership per capita in China was below 30 vehilces per thousand population, much lower than world average of 120 vehicles per thousand population.
