Shanghai. September 27 (Gasgoo.com) Beijing authorities have mandated that all gas stations to provide Euro IV standards diesel and gasoline fuel starting January 1, 2008, Chinese media reported today.

Cong Yu, an expert from SINOPEC Yanshan Chemical Corporation said his company would have no trouble providing about 3 million tons of Euro IV fuel to meet Beijing's consumption needs.

Beijing Youth Daily also said Beijing will mandate all vehicles to meet Euro IV emmission standards by early 2008.

In 2005, when Beijing put Euro III emmission standards in place, the city cut 2,480 tons of Sulfur dioxide. Once the Euro IV standards are put in place, the city  will cut the discharge of Sulfur dioxide by additional 1,840 tons annually, Beijing Youth Daily said.
