Shanghai. November 6 (Gasgoo.com) – Chinese automaker Jiangling Motor Group shipped the last batch of 300 pickups to Russia over the weekend, which marks the automaker has fulfilled the 2,349 vehicles export contract with Russia.

In May this year, Jiangling Motor signed a $20 million vehicle export contract with a Russia company. Under the contract, Jiangling will export 2,349 Jiangling pickups and Landwind SUVs to Russian market this year.

By November 3, Jiangling has delivered all vehicles to Russia as required by the contract.

Russia has become the largest overseas market for Chinese-made vehicles since the first half of 2006,” said Zhang Xiaoyu, vice president of China Machinery Industry Federation.

In the first eight months this year, Chinese automakers have sold 560,000 vehicles in Russian market and it is expected that the sales of Chinese-made vehicles in Russia will reach 100,000 this year, representing 5 percent of Russia’s total vehicles imports.

Last year China exported 200,000 vehicles to Russia. However, back in 2004, there was no Chinese-made sold in Russia market.
