Shanghai. November 6 (Gasgoo.com) – Guangzhou Toyota has produced 200,000 Camry vehicles since the model started production in May 2006, Chinese newspaper Beijing Morning Post said.

With a total sales volume of 124,134 units in the first nine months, Toyota Camry remains best selling brand in the upper and middle segment of Chinese sedan market since its mass production last year.

The 2008 Camry series is priced 177,800 yuan ($23,569) to 269,800 ($35,764) yuan in Chinese market.

Completely redesigned for 2008, the latest Toyota Camry offers more safety features, such as front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags.

In a recent crash test performed by NCAP, the Chinese crash test authority, Toyota Camry ranked the first with a total score of 48.8 points, which means Toyota Camry is rated the safest vehicles in the upper and middle segment of Chinese-made sedans.

Toyota Camry will continue to dominate the midsize family sedan segment, as consumers prized it for its high build quality, unflagging reliability, comfortable ride and impressive durability, said a Guangzhou Toyota spokesman.
