Only 37% Chinese consumers willing to buy local brand cars, survey finds

Shanghai. December 17 (Gasgoo.com) – A recent survey made West China City Daily indicates that only 37 percent Chinese car consumers are willing to buy China’s local brand cars, the newspaper reported today.
 
Interestingly, 82% respondents have expressed their support for China’s local brand cars though most respondent are reluctant to buy one. The survey has investigated 100 car owners in China’s Southwestern province of Sichuan.
 
The survey also finds that 86 percent of Chinese consumers believe China’s local brand cars should improve vehicle quality before they can attract more car consumers.
 
58% respondents agree that the body design of China’s local brand cars has improved a lot over the years.
 
However, in a separate survey made by McKinsey Inc indicates that about a half or 53 percent respondents are in favor of China’s local brand cars.
