Shanghai. December 27 (Gasgoo.com) – China is expected to export over half a million vehicles this year, up 95 percent from one year earlier, an official from Ministry of Commerce said last week.

"We expect to export more than half a million vehicles this year, and more than 800,000 vehicles next year,” Zhangji, deputy director of Mechanics and Electronics Division under the Ministry of Commerce, said at the first China International Auto Parts Exhibition Expo in Beijing last week.

In the first three quarters of this year, China exported 413,900 vehicles, with total export value of USD 4.8 billion, according to reports prepared by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAC). China’s vehicle export in the first three quarters has surpassed the total vehicle exports of last year, the report said.

Zhang said that local brand automakers are driving forces behind the rapid growth of exports. “However, Chinese-made vehicles are concentrating on the markets in Middle East, Africa and Latin Africa. There’re fierce competitions between Chinese automakers in these markets.”

Chery is China’s largest exporter of passenger vehicles. In the first 11 months, Chery has exported 114,700 vehicles to overseas markets, up 164.7 percent from one year earlier.

Chery vehicles are exported mainly to emerging markets such as Russia, the Middle East and Latin America, where its low prices are helping to win customers. The company is also building a car-shipping port on the Yangtze to facilitate vehicles exports.
