In the first 11 months of 2007, China's engine exports grow 46.24% year-on-year

Shanghai. January 4 (Gasgoo.com) – In the first 11 months of 2007, the total value of China's vehicle engine exports hit one billion US dollars, up 46.24 percent from $719 million in 2006, according to China Association of Automobile Industry (CAAC).

 

In the first 11 months of 2007, exports of automobile-use engines (engines with displacement between 1.0 liter and 3.0 liter) grew 100 percent, according to a CAAC report.

 

By contrast, exports of small engines (displacement below 0.25 liter) for motorcycles or large engines (over 3.0 liter) remain stagnant in the first 11 months. In the first three quarters last year, China exported 1.54 million units of small engines (displacement below 0.25 liter), down 1.30 percent from one year earlier and 136,700 large engine (displacement larger than 3.0 liter), down 5.96 percent.

 

"Engines with displacement between 1.0 liter and 3.0 liter are mainly used for passenger vehicles," said Jia Xinguang, an automobile industry analyst. "The fast growing exports of passenger vehicle engines indicates that China's engine makers, like Dong An and Mianyang, has reached international standards in terms of product quality."
