China sold 375,300 SUV vehicles in 2007, up 58% year-on-year

Shanghai. January 17 (Gasgoo.com) -The number of sport utility vehicles sold in China rose 58 percent to 375,300 units in 2007 and the top five SUVs account for 61 percent of the total, according to the latest sales report from National Association of Passenger Manufacturers.
 
The top five SUV models were Great wall Hover, Chery Tiggo, Honda CRV, Hyundai Tuscon and Zotye 2008. Altogether the top five SUV makers sold 229,842 SUV vehicles.
 
Specially, Great wall sold 57,752 Hovers SUVs, up 99.3 year on year; while its total SUV sales rose 61 percent to 64,700 units. Great wall’s low-end SUV models, Saifu and Saiying made insignificant contributions to this growth. 
 
Chery sold 50,098 Tiggo, each of Tiggo 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L, 2.4L editions achieved 10,000-unit sales, of which Tiggo 1.6L is the most popular model.
 
Sales of Honda CRV and Hyundai Tuscon were 45,686 units and 44,729 units, up 79.2 and 58.7 percent respectively.
