Shanghai. January 29 (Gasgoo.com) - Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co, Toyota's joint venture in Sichuang province, announced a recall of 3,190 Coaster passenger vehicles yesterday over transmission shaft problems, China's top safety regulatory authorities said today.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement that the recalled Coaster buses were produced between January 9 and September 8 of 2007.

The rear propeller shaft on some affected vehicles might come loose or disconnected from chassis, which could poses serious dangers in driving. The dealers will immediately be available to accept service appointments to fix the problem.

Toyota has already recalled 21,685 Coaster passenger vehicles made between February 1, 2001 and May 31, 2007 in China last year. The reason for the last recall is related to a rear stabilizer bar problem.
