Shanghai. February 20 (Gasgoo.com) –In 2007, China exported a total of 612,700 vehicles, up 78.95 percent from one year earlier while the country imported 314,200 vehicles, up 37.80 percent from one year earlier, according to a report prepared by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
Commercial vehicles led China’s automobile exports in 2007 with a strong growth 79 percent from one year earlier. With a total export of 333,300 units, commercial vehicles represents 30 percent of China total vehicles exports in 2007, while with a total export of 183,300 units, sedans represent 30 percent of China’s vehicles export in the year.
In 2007, total value of automotive products that China imported reached $25.98 billion, up 24.45 percent from one year earlier, whereas total value of automotive products that China exported reached $40.89 billion, up 45.31 percent from one year earlier.
Last year, China exported a total of 248,000 heavy duty trucks, which represents 40.3 percent of China's total vehicle exports in the year. Total value of China's heavy truck exports amounted to 2.31 billion in U.S. dollars, which amounts to 31.5 percent of China's total vehicle exports last year.
However, super heavy trucks (total weight over 20 tons) led China's truck export last year by a total of 25,200 units or a spectacular growth of 372.0 percent from one year earlier, according to statistics Xinhua cited from Automobile Division of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME). Total value of these exported super heavy duty trucks amounts to $937 million, an impressive increase of 435.7 percent from one year earlier, CCCME said.
