Imported cars represent 3.7% of Chinese market last year

Shanghai. February 25 (Gasgoo.com) – China imported 314,200 vehicles in 2007, which represents less than 4 percent of Chinese automobile market, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
 
China sold a total of 8.79 million vehicles last year, which includes 0.61 million exported vehicles. In other words, China sold 8.18 million vehicles at domestic market. That means imported cars account for only 3.7 percent of China’s total vehicle sales last year.
 
In 2007, China imported a total of 86,200 vehicles, with a total value of $10.68 billion, which represents an increase of 41.4 percent year-on-year. In 2006, the total value of China-imported vehicles was $7.55 billion, which represents 41 percent of China-imported automobile products.
