Shanghai, May 5 (Gasgoo.com) There’s no competition existing between Rolls-Royce and Bentley, for they have different market positioning, said Lan Robertson, director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars to reporters recently.

In 2007, Bentley sold 338 vehicles in China, nealy three times of Rolls-Royce’s sales volume. However, according to Robertson, Rolls-Royce and Bentley develop business in different markets. The average price of Bentley vehicles is 1/3 - 1/2 of that of Rolls-Royce cars. With different price positioning, Bentley appeals to relatively wider range of customers, while Rolls-Royce targets the high-end market of the auto industry.

Target customers of Rolls-Royce mainly comprise of wealthy high-income people who might have a disposable income of $25million to $30 million. They number 95,000 around the world, increasing 10% annually. But in China, this part of rich people is probably growing by 20% every year, added by Robertson.
