Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe to hit China market in March 2009
Shanghai, May 21 (Gasgoo.com) FAW-Mazda will introduce a hard-top convertible MX-5 Roadster Coupe in the Chinese market in March 2009 after RX-8, Mazda-5 and hatchback Mazda-3.
The upcoming MX-5 will break the mould and Mazda could compete not only with the RX-8 in the sports car market. MX-5 Roadster Coupe mounted with AMT (Automated Mechanical Transmission) will be put into the market in the first quarter of 2009, Yu Hongjiang, vice general manager of FAW Mazda Motor Sales Co told reporters recently.
Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe, displayed at the 2008 Beijing auto show in April, is the upgraded edition of the third generation MX-5 which now sells for about 132,900 yuan ($18,985 ) in the North American market. It is expected that the hard-top convertible MX-5 will be priced at 200,000 yuan in China.
MX-5 Roadster Coupe, a Roadster Power Retractable Hard Top, features the same performance time and exterior styling with the soft top edition.
The third generation MX-5, called a fun-to-drive roadster, embodies a motorized pleasure in its unique ways.
