BAIC Group allies with 12 companies to develop ICV busiensses

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BAIC Group inked strategic cooperation agreements with 12 companies at the closing ceremony of the World Autonomous Vehicle Ecosystem Conference on October 21 to jointly develop intelligent-connected vehicle (ICV) businesses. Partners involve such companies as ZF Group, Bosch, Hella, Panasonic, iFlytek and Baidu, etc.

On the opening day of the conference, Xu Heyi, chairman of BAIC Group, announced the “DOLPH-in+” Strategy that aims to reinforce its industrial layouts in the sectors of high-performance sensors, domain controller, computing platform, autonomous driving system and HD map with the intelligent technologies, products and transportation system as focuses. Based on a cemented collaboration and opening-up, the automaker is ambitious to build a new win-win intelligent ecosystem by joining hands with partners home and abroad so as to integrating superior industrial resources and forming innovative cooperation modes.

Under the newly-signed agreements, BAIC Group and 12 partners will extend in-depth cooperation on autonomous driving, IoV (Internet of Vehicles) service and operation system, human-vehicle interaction, speech-based intelligence, cloud platform, the optimization of mobility services and customers’ experience.

A new industrial ecosystem is being formed with the automobile industry gradually integrating with other industries, such as communications, information and Internet. BAIC Group, as one of China's major traditional vehicle makers, is improving the partnership with auto parts suppliers, Internet operators and new technology startups in the wake of the cross-border cooperation, intending to share the tremendous innovation space and market prospect of the ICV domain.
