Chinese-spec Cadillac CT5 to be first seen at Chengdu Motor Show
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC General Motors (SAIC-GM) plans to offer the first glimpse of the locally-produced Cadillac CT5 at the Chengdu Motor Show 2019 which will kick off on September 5, the joint venture said via its WeChat account.
According to the photos exposed by the automaker, the Chinese-spec CT5 still has many of Cadillac's unique styling accents, including a front face that is inspired by the Cadillac Escala concept, together with upscale trim and ample lighting elements.
The separation of the narrow headlights and the sculptural daytime running lights not only reflects the essence of Cadillac lighting, but also conveys a modern interpretation of its signature feature.

The China-made version is expected to have two trim levels as well: the Premium Luxury and the Sport.
Featuring a front-engine rear-wheel-drive layout, the homegrown CT5 looks rather well-proportioned. The vehicle's full dimensions are 4,924mm long, 1,883mm wide and 1,453mm/1,445mm tall with a 2,947-mm wheelbase. The 18-inch and 19-inch rims will be offered to the Premium Luxury and the Sport versions respectively.
Beneath the hood, the locally-produced Cadillac CT5 will boast an inline 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that is good for 241hp and also satisfies the China Stage 6 Emission Standard. The engine is backed by a 10-speed automatic transmission (Photo source: SAIC-GM's WeChat account).
