Huawei’s L4 intelligent driving technology employed by Audi

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Huawei, the world's leading provider of ICT devices, showed off its Level 4 full-stack intelligent driving solution dubbed ADS at the 2019 Huawei Connect.

A fleet with dozens of Audi-branded vehicles has been experiencing road tests in the second half of 2019, according to Huawei.

It is reported that the Huawei ADS integrates its capabilities of chip, algorithm and data. The MDC (Mobile Data Center), Huawei’s computing platform for intelligent driving, is based on the company’s self-developed AI chip, in-vehicle OS (operating system) and other technical fruits, serving as the core of ADS.

The MDC is open and standardized, said Huawei.

The SOC (System-on-a-Chip) chip for autonomous driving developed by Huawei can process data collected by several sensors and achieve complicated path decision-making and planning. At the same time, Huawei's core algorithm focuses on optimizing the design of China's complex traffic scenarios. Besides, its cooperation with automobile enterprises to build testing fleet is conducive to the data processing, accumulation of test data and improvement in drive system.

The ADS meets the demand of smooth evolution from  ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistant System) between L2 and L3 to L4 self-driving. The solution is also designed for the mass production of autonomous driving system, promoting automakers to speed up their technical application in real-life scenarios.

Apart from Audi, Huawei also cooperates with other OEMs including FAW's Hongqi, Dongfeng Motor, Higer and autonomous driving companies like Neolix.  

From the strategic orientation "help automotive enterprises manufacture favorable vehicles", the solution BU to intelligent vehicles to its all-round solutions, Huawei's auto deployment is getting increasingly clear.
