GAC NIO kicks off delivery of HYCAN 007 all-electric SUV
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- HYCAN, the BEV brand co-founded by GAC Group and NIO, celebrated its one-year anniversary by kicking off the delivery of the HYCAN 007 SUV, its first mass-produced model, on May 20.
The HYCAN 007—first launched in December 2019 as a production version—formally hit the market on April 10 in three versions, namely, the BASE, the PLUS and the TOP. The post-subsidy prices for the mid-sized SUV range from 262,600 yuan ($36,986) to 303,000 yuan ($42,676).
What are the bright spots in the vehicle? Powered by a 73kWh battery pack, the BASE has a NEDC-rated range of 523km and can sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds. It can be charged from 30% to 80% of its battery capacity in 33 minutes using a fast-charging mode and in 6.2 hours using a slow-charging mode, according to HYCAN's statement.
The two dearer versions—the PLUS and the TOP—feature a large part of power performances in common. Both of them carry a 93kWh battery pack, which offers the vehicle a NEDC-rated range of up to 643km. Besides, they do 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds, and their battery can be recharged from 30% to 80% within 35 minutes using fast-charging mode.
Designed to be a human friendly full-electric SUV, the “007” features quite a few smart technologies, such as the Level 2 plus intelligent driving functions, the smart voice assistant dubbed “Little CAN”, the “flying shuttle” display composed of two 12.3-inch screens and a 10.1-inch screen, the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) system and the vital sign monitoring device.
The all-electric SUV measures 4,879mm long, 1,937mm wide and 1,680mm tall, and its wheelbase spans 2,919mm. The dimension makes it play in the league of medium-sized SUVs.
In the meantime, the automaker started the operation of its central warehouse & delivery center where it handed over the key to its first car owner. HYCAN said the facility will offer consumers a series of services like delivery, license application, EV charging and car washing.
The company revealed that there have been over 30 after-sales service outlets under construction, and it intends to increase the number to 100 by the end of 2020, which are expected to afford users with such service as routine maintenance, car repair, roadside assistance and door-to-door car delivery (photo source: HYCAN's WeChat account).
