Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The China-made Honda HR-V came off the production line on Mar. 24 at a factory of Dongfeng Honda, according to a post on the Sino-Japanese joint venture’s WeChat account.
As the sister model of GAC Honda’s ZR-V, Dongfeng Honda’s HR-V will take on the likes of the Toyota Frontlander and the Nissan Qashqai.

The HR-V still retains Honda's family-style design, with a trapezoidal front grille that is slightly different from the GAC Honda’s ZR-V. There are also nuances in the internal details of the grille at different trims.
The new model’s front end features a dynamic three-stage air intake at the bottom and a chrome strip on the top of the grille flanked by the light clusters on both sides, which accentuates the vehicle’s width.
The light strip that runs across the rear end forms a trendy light design as well.
The made-in-China Honda HR-V measures 4,569mm long, 1,840mm wide, and 1,621mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,655mm.
The automaker revealed that the Honda HR-V SUV model will feature multiple active safety functions thanks to the Honda SENSING system. It will come with two powertrain solutions, one of which carries a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pumps out up to 134kW, paired with a CVT, and the other one adopts a hybrid electric system that includes a 2.0-liter engine good for 105kW.
