CATL, HGP team up on battery energy storage project

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- CATL recently signed an agreement with HGP, a USA-based battery energy storage project development company, for a 450MWh battery energy storage supply project, according to a post on CATL’s WeChat account.

The two parties will also establish a long-term partnership to promote the implementation of up to 5GWh utility-scale and distributed energy storage projects, so as to meet the ever-increasing demands for renewable energy in Texas, USA.

The said 450MWh energy storage project will be deployed in Texas and is expected to begin commercial operation in 2024. CATL will provide HGP with the EnerC outdoor containerized liquid-cooling battery system, which features high safety, long service life, and high integration. With IP55 and C5 anti-corrosion protection, EnerC is able to meet the requirements of various harsh climatic conditions, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the whole system for 20 years.

Thanks to CATL's integrated liquid cooling system, the project's safe and reliable operation will be further ensured, said the Chinese battery supplier.
