Midea's auto parts arm Welling Auto Parts forms strategic partnership with XPeng

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 20, Welling Auto Parts (Welling), the automotive components division of Midea Group's industrial technology branch, officially announced its strategic cooperation agreement with XPeng, a Chinese new energy vehicle startup.

Under the agreement, Welling and XPeng will leverage their complementary strengths to cooperate in the field of thermal management products for new energy vehicles, with a particular focus on electric compressors. 

Welling, with its leading technological R&D capabilities, reliable product performance, and ample production capacity, will provide XPeng with various thermal management products, including electric compressors. These products will play a crucial role in optimizing heating in low-temperature environments and facilitating efficient cooling and heating coordination across different in-car scenarios.

As a vital component of Midea Group's intelligent transportation strategy, Welling has strategically positioned itself in the new energy vehicle sector, focusing on three key areas, namely, thermal management, electric drive, and chassis control systems. Its product portfolio encompasses electric compressors, integrated thermal management modules, electric drive motors, EPS steering motors, electronic oil pumps, electronic water pumps, electronic expansion valves, and solenoid valves. 

Welling has established a robust production capacity. Its factory in Hefei commenced production in 2021, while the first phase of its new energy vehicle component strategic base in Anqing officially kicked off production in early 2023.
