Dongfeng Motor Group faces double-digit YoY drop in June auto sales

Beijing (Gasgoo)- In June 2023, Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (Dongfeng Motor Group) faced a 25.68% year-on-year decline in monthly sales, which stood at 179,119 vehicles.

Among the vehicles sold in the past month, 149,458 units were passenger vehicles, representing a 29.96% decline from the previous year. In addition, of the passenger vehicles sold last month, 20,393 units were new energy vehicles, down 30.04% year over year.

In the first six months of this year, Dongfeng Motor Group’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 945,484 vehicles, indicating a 23.39% drop year-on-year. Passenger vehicles accounted for 81.41% of the total sales volume in the period, coming in at 769,689 units. Moreover, 107,718 units were new energy passenger vehicles, slipping 7.8% from a year ago. 

As to the group’s joint venture, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën sold 7,657 vehicles in June 2023, representing a 10.24% decrease over that of the previous year. In the first half of this year, cumulative sales of the Sino-French joint venture summed up to 44,217 vehicles, falling 21.56% compared to the same period last year.
