Brilliance to set up sales offices worldwide
Shanghai, July 22 (Gasgoo.com) Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd will build sales divisions around the globe in the future, while this year Brilliance will still focus on the KD (Knocked Down) project, Beijing News reported yesterday.
Last Tuesday, 270 Zhonghua Junjie cars, which met the European three-star rating in crash tests, headed for Germany as the first batch of this Chinese carmaker's own-brand sedans for export to Europe.
The group chairman Qi Yumin said Brilliance auto aims to sell 30,000 units in overseas markets in 2008, double in 2009, and 100,000 in 2010. The company will deliver 2,000 to 3000 units to high-end markets in Europe amid 30,000 targets this year, Liu Zhigang, president of Brilliance Jinbei added.
Brilliance has set three programs to meet the sales target, looking for worldwide dealers, to establish sales offices worldwide and to promote the variety of exports in more countries, Qi told reporters. Now the global divisions are already under way, as Russia, Europe, North America, Middle East and Africa are chosen as the first locations. More importantly, foreign and domestic experts experienced in sales and marketing will be appointed for Brilliance overseas business, according to the Chinese carmaker’s sales officials.
Liu Zhigang made it clear that Brilliance will export in KD form and invest directly abroad this year. Apart from adopting both KD and SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) forms in Russia, the company also plans to start assembly lines in Ukraine and some other neighboring countries, followed by direct investment and joint ventures.
