Tencent releases TAI3.0 IoV ecosystem

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- China’s Internet giant Tencent showcased its TAI3.0 Internet of Vehicles (IoV) ecosystem at the 2020 CES (Consumer Electronics Show), including two in-vehicle applications for smart mobility and music respectively. It also reported its latest progress of autonomous driving, automotive cloud and 5G-based cooperative vehicle infrastructures.

The IoV service enables drivers to use mobile phones as infrequently as possible when they are driving, while interact with the real world by means of in-car app carrying the software functions frequently used on phone.

Efficient and safe speech interaction the smart mobility app comes with can help people reduce the number of screen clicks, which will lower the possibility of distracted driving. Tencent said when users sign in the ID provided by the system, the in-car version of WeChat can be online synchronously with the mobile phone. The program also boasts “non-inductive payment” that allows users to pay in multiple scenarios without using their phones while driving.

In addition, the smart mobility app, based on LBS (Location Based Services), car-borne sensors, spatial-temporal perception tech, etc., will actively recommend information about nearby restaurants, weather changes and the like.  

As to the other music app, the content collected on the phone can be synchronized on the in-car software after users log in same Tencent series account on the two devices.

Besides, Tencent announced partnership with Harman during the CES to integrate core technologies and products of TAI3.0 IoV system with the American company’s intelligent cabin. On the spot, the two in-vehicle apps were demonstrated in the cockpit. Mass-produced models equipped with the Tencent-developed smart mobility program are expected to be launched this year.
