Baidu’s JiDU unveils pixel-inspired logo for Robocar
Beijing (Gasgoo)- JiDU, the jointly owned brand of China’s major automaker Geely and tech giant Baidu, unveiled the pixel-inspired logo of its automotive robot (Robocar) on January 18th.
JiDU believes that pixels are the simplest and most direct symbol of the digital world, acting as the bridge between humans and machines, reality and the digital realm. The company combined the pixel concept with the letter “J” from its name and created the world’s first logo for the Robocar brand.
Additionally, the company set the brand’s signature color as JIDU AI-PURPLE. According to JiDU, purple represents the primary color of Artificial Intelligence, for it is the same hue that helium shows under ionization state.
Moreover, JiDU also forged a set of exclusive fonts for its Robocar brand, the ROBO FONT. The font is JiDU’s way of demonstrating Robocar’s view of the world, through pixels. The company thinks that the Robocar sees the world in pixels, and presents itself to the world through pixels, too.
Notably, as the company previously announced, its first Robocar model will be showcased at the Beijing Auto Show in April, and its mass production and delivery will start in 2023. The production model will be powered by the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin SoC, with L4 autonomous driving capability.
