iFLYTEK said to foray into autonomous driving field with jobs posted

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s AI intelligent speech developer, iFLYTEK, might be actively entering the autonomous driving playfield, for it has started to recruit autonomous driving talents this year.

The jobs cover multiple autonomous driving categories, including autonomous driving hardware, planning and decision algorithms, control algorithms, ADAS simulation tests, based in Hefei, Shenzhen, and Shanghai.

Early on, iFLYTEK has disclosed that while the company mainly focuses on human-machine interactive applications, it also pays close attention to other popular automotive fields, including autonomous driving.

As an AI company dedicated to intelligent speech development, iFLYTEK’s business operations branch out to the automotive industry through onboard voice assistance solutions. In the past years, the company has maintained relationships with various automakers, including Chery Auto and JAC Group.

Although autonomous driving development has come up, the company still mainly provides smart voice control products for the auto industry. iFLYTEK’s intelligent onboard voice assistant, intelligent onboard system, and integrated infotainment systems are widely used in the domestic auto industry.

According to the company’s records, in 2021, iFLYTEK’s smart automotive products have been deployed to seven million vehicles covering 1,100 models. The company has also formed partnerships with over 40 automakers within the year. With the current momentum, iFLYTEK is optimistic for a 70% year-on-year jump in annual income in 2022.
