Beijing introduces world’s first open-source intelligent connected roadside OS

Beijing (Gasgoo)- The world's first open-source intelligent connected roadside unit operating system (hereinafter referred to as "smart road OS") was officially released in Beijing on August 1, signifying that the industry has entered a new stage of development.

Based on the practical application experience of Beijing High-level Automated Driving Demonstration Area (BJHAD), smart road OS establishes a unified technology and database for full scenario high-level autonomous driving and intelligent transportation.

The smart road OS is released with the guidance of several entities, such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Openatom Foundation, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, the Management Committee of Beijing Economic Development Zone, Tsinghua University, and Baidu. 

As the world's first of its kind, the smart road OS features open source, autonomous and controllable, and connected traits. The open operating system unified the standard from the foundation, realizing decoupling of software and hardware, connecting the otherwise isolated intelligent connected applications.

Based on the practical experience of the BJHAD, the system is built with autonomous and controllable key technologies under vehicle-road-cloud integration. 

The comprehensive operating system architecture supports the development needs of different application scenarios, effectively lower the development threshold and product costs, attracting more companies to join its ecosystem.
