Innovusion’s new ultra-long-range AI LiDAR to be deployed by Baidu Apollo
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese LiDAR supplier Innovusion introduced its one-piece ultra-long-range AI LiDAR, the Falcon AI. The product will be deployed by Baidu Apollo in its roadside solutions.

The Falcon AI is designed to target scenarios such as C-V2X and intelligent highways. While achieving ultra-long detection range and ultra-high resolution, it integrates high-computing GPU modules and supports various deep learning algorithms, which can greatly reduce the configuration requirements of edge computing and the complexity of system deployment, ensuring the perception requirements of smart traffic scenarios.
The Falcon AI LiDAR has a wide FOV (field of view) and high precision, it can detect as far as 500m away. The LiDAR has a 0.06°*0.06° angular resolution, which allows the device to detect small objects 100m away. Its ROI dynamic focus is strategically encrypted in core areas, tracking vehicles and passengers in real-time. In addition, the LiDAR is equipped with an active heat dissipation function, ensuring its long-term stable operation.
Taking a two-way four-lane road section with a total length of 1km, an intersection spacing of 200m, and a road width of about 40m as an example, the Innovusion Falcon AI LiDAR offers a standard detection range of 250m and a maximum detection range of 500m at 10% reflectance.
Meanwhile, its highly integrated design with a built-in GPU module and no external computing units supports various mainstream deep learning frameworks, and is deeply adapted to the Innovusion OmniSense perception platform.
Only ten units of the Falcon AI and five units of lightweight MEC are required for the same 1km road segment, which can ensure the performance and reduce the overall deployment cost, complexity, and later maintenance difficulty.
