DeepWay, as the only licensed company in BJHAD’s fourth round of licenses issuance, successfully passed the autonomous driving function test of commercial vehicles for trunkline logistics, and was officially approved for open road testing.
The license marks the beginning of DeepWay's move beyond closed field testing to open road testing, so as to be closer to real-world operations. DeepWay will also effectively accumulate open road mileage and leverage genuine highway scenarios to further improve its capabilities of full-stack autonomous driving algorithms such as vehicle perception, positioning, decisioning, planning, and control, as well as system stability, deepening the validation of commercialization patterns.
The scope of the BJHAD covers 225 square kilometers of Yizhuang District, including various complex scenarios such as urban roads, expressways, and highway sections. Among them, there are 6 test sections of highways with a total distance of 143 kilometers. All of which will be gradually opened to DeepWay’s self-driving trucks for testing and validation.
