Inceptio Technology, Horizon Robotics team up on Journey 5 chip application

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 15, Horizon Robotics announced the cooperation with autonomous driving solution provider Inceptio Technology on the application of the Journey 5 chip.

This marked another important cooperation reached by both sides for the forward-looking development of intelligent trunkline logistics, which came after the duo’s previous mass production breakthrough based on Horizon Robotics’ Journey 3 chip.

Specifically, the latest cooperation specifies that Inceptio Technology will adopt two Journey 5 chips onto its next-generation computing platform of "Xuanyuan", the truck-dedicated autonomous driving software & hardware system in-house developed by Inceptio Technology. The chips will enable the platform to give full play to its strong, efficient, and flexible features, and accelerate the iterative upgrade and mass production application of L3 or higher levels of autonomous driving truck solutions. 

Notably, this is also the first application case of Horizon Robotics’ Journey 5 chip in the field of trunkline logistics. The duo’s collaborative product will be mass produced in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Horizon Robotics and Inceptio Technology has reached cooperation back in 2019, committing to providing high efficiency chips and complete tool chain that contribute to Inceptio Technology’s autonomous truck development and mass production. In 2021, the Xuanyuan system equipped with the Journey 3 chip realized mass production and delivery. 

Up to now, Inceptio Technology has accumulated over 18 million kilometers of safe autonomous driving operation distance.
