With an ultra-large FOV, image-level definition, new automotive-grade hardware and software architecture, artistic designs, and dedicated engineering solutions, the ML-30s+ is expected to deliver impressive LiDAR experience for autonomous driving.
Positioned as a short-range LiDAR for blind-spot detection, the ML-30s+ LiDAR has an ultra-large FOV of 140°*70°. Compared to LiDAR with a 120° horizontal FOV, the ML-30s+ features a more streamlined design while providing better coverage of the area alongside the rear part of the vehicle.
Vertically, the ML-30s+ adpots an asymmetric design that directs the limited FOV to the closest blind spot. The -50° POV (placed horizontally) of the ML-30s+ is the largest design in the industry, which can effectively detect obstacles on the ground, such as low safety guardrails, bricks, parking locks, traffic cones, etc., as well as accurately identifying lane lines and parking spot markings.
In terms of functional safety, the ML-30s+ fully meets the requirements of the typical scenarios of autonomous passenger vehicles and Robotaxis, by adding protection and monitoring mechanism to the key chain where errors could occur. The product fully complies to the ISO 26262 function safety ASIL B level.
According to ZVision, the autonomous driving-dedicated LiDAR will be steadily produced and delivered on a large scale within the year of 2023.
