Pony.ai inaugurates three product lines for intelligent driving products

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 11, autonomous driving startup Pony.ai officially inaugurated three product lines for passenger vehicle-dedicated intelligent driving businesses, which will be run by an independent business unit, namely Personally Owned Vehicles (POV).

The fresh lines are the intelligent driving software brand "Xiaoma Shitu" (in Chinese pinyin), the domain controller "Fang Zai" (in Chinese pinyin), and the data closed-loop tool chain "Cang Qiong" (in Chinese pinyin). At present, they all secured procurement orders and have started mass production and delivery.

Thus, Pony.ai formed has formed three technical front business segments, namely Robotaxi, Robotruck, and POV. The company believes that with the demand for intelligent vehicles rising, its POV business will be one of the major contributors to its future operations. 

"Xiaoma Shitu" is an urban intelligent driving solution, supporting high-speed NOA, urban NOA, memory parking, autonomous valet parking functions, etc. There are three different versions of the scheme, PonyClassic, PonyPro, and PonyUltra. The minimal version, PonyClassic, carries 6 cameras and 1 millimeter-wave radar with a price as low as a couple thousand yuan. Meanwhile, the top-shelf version, PonyUltra, has 11 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and 3 LiDAR.

Leveraging Pony.ai’s self-developed BEV (bird's eye view) perception algorithm, the solution can realize high-speed and urban NOA functions only with navigation maps in the absence of high-precision maps.

"Fang Zai" is a domain controller developed by the company, which has gone into mass production and delivery. Aside from automakers, the company is also exploring the applications of Fang Zai in the field of low-speed unmanned driving, self-driving delivery, unmanned sanitation, ports, mining areas, and other application scenarios.

Finally, "Cang Qiong" is a data closed-loop toolchain product that is composed of two core modules, the vehicle-cloud collaborative big data platform and cloud large-scale cloud simulation platform. It meets clients requirements of full data closed loop in the R&D test phase and the shadow mode-based data closed loop in the mass production phase.
